We are looking for looking for an SSAT Tutor: Math. Details of this stipend position can be found below.
Responsibilities:
- Help students develop a positive mindset toward the test by building confidence
- Monitor student progress through progress
- Monitor assessments and adjust strategies as needed
- Hold tutoring sessions for groups of 10-15 students for 1 hour a week (3:45 PM - 4:45 PM)
- Tutoring Sessions to begin week of 4/6/2026 on either Wednesdays or Fridays, 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM, through May 22, 2026 (To be coordinated with the SSAT Math Tutor).
- No tutoring the week of May 4, 2026
- Total of 10 sessions
- Teach essential SSAT strategies for question types (e.g., analogies, sentence completion and essay writing).
- Enhance reading comprehension, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Teach skimming and scanning reading strategies
- Instruct students on time management, multiple choice strategies, understanding of question wording, and eliminating incorrect answer choices
- Monitor student progress through timed progress-monitoring assessments and adjust strategies as needed
Schedule: Monday, April 6, 2026 through Friday, May 22, 2026
Hours: 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM
Stipend Amount: $40.00 per hour
