Reinforces and provides tutoring for students who fail or have difficulty comprehending the material of designated curricula (e.g., reading, writing, science, social studies, mathematics) presented by the teacher.

What You'll Do:
  • Assists in conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, general office and clerical tasks, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities as directed
  • Prepares and sets-up educational materials
  • Assists and supports the development of lesson plans and provides feedback to teacher(s)/supervisor(s) on individual students
  • Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, computer-based instruction, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods
  • Assists individuals and small student groups and reinforces learning concepts presented by teachers
  • Communicates and coordinates with students and parents about routine issues in their native language
  • Supervises and monitors students at assigned site and reinforces positive student behaviors and student related administration policies and rules
  • Discusses and coordinates instructional efforts with teachers and educational staff
  • Maintains the confidentiality of student information
  • Completes training programs and attends meetings as required
 
What You’ll Need:
  • High School Diploma/GED, plus one of the following: Proof of passing the TABE D Adult Education Test for Reading and Math; minimum SAT scores (within the last 5 years) of 500 in Math and 470 in Reading; or transcript(s) verifying at least 48 semester hours of undergraduate coursework from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance
  • Work collaboratively with others on a team
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment with the ability to plan and organize work, at times with interruptions
  • Ability to coordinate and work effectively with site staff and a diverse student population
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
